Website Design:
Abri Insurance
In the summer of 2019, I was hired by Creative Consulting to redesign Abri Insurance’s website. They wanted a professional website that maintained their brand colors and identity.
When designing, I aimed for a clean, sophisticated, and user friendly layout. I used images that pay homage to the company’s location. I made sure to stay true to the company’s image and brand colors.
Design Work
These projects were done using Adobe Suite or other common design tools.
Layout & Logo Design
Poetry Weekly Magazine
This project was one of my first forays into layout design. I found the article “In a Language not Your Own” by Cynthia Lange-Kubick, and I was inspired to put the article in a Poetry magazine that is distributed once a week. I made the Poetry Weekly logo and came up with different things that might be included in the issue. I had so much fun.
Brand Style Guide
Sumter County Museum Logo Design
I was tasked with redesigning a logo and creating a brand style guide. I have always been drawn to history and museums, so having the opportunity to redesign the Sumter County Museum Logo was a treat. The first thing I did was look into the museum, its focus and its personal history. The museum’s setting and buildings are rooted in the county’s Victorian history. The look of the buildings and the beauty of the garden were my two main inspirations. The new logo brings the museum’s brand into the modern age while paying homage to Victorian era typography.

Package Design, Photography, & Photoshop
Album Cover
Tasked with making a package design for an album using only seven images from my camera roll, I chose to design an album cover for a mostly unknown artist, Mindy Gledhill. The tone of this album is bright, feminine and cheerful. Mindy uses piano, ukelele, and soft vocals in a majority of her tracks. When designing this album cover, my goal was to showcase the tone of the music in the colors, fonts, and imagery.

Screen Time Infographic
This infographic highlights the statistics surrounding screen time, kids, and how the two relate to each other. Viewers will learn how much time kids and adults spend on screens, and the adverse affects this time has on children and their parents.

Advertising & Layout
Screen Time PSA Advertisements
The effect technology has on us is something that I contemplate often. Being someone who works with screens all the time, I know the importance of stepping away from them. These advertisements were created to inspire parents to be mindful of how much time their children spend in front of screens and to encourage parents to lead their children in alternate activities that are beneficial to the children’s health.

Children’s Book
Mermaids are one of the defining loves of my childhood. I remember believing in them, searching for them on family trips to the beach, and wanting to be one. I have always loved them, and I doubt this will ever change.
When I was tasked with designing and writing a children’s book, the idea of the Dolpin Express immediately popped into my head. I knew mermaids would be involved, but the dolphins are certainly the stars of this story. I wrote and illustrated this book that I am working on and that I will be publishing soon!
Studio Art
The passion that started it all.
In my earliest memories, I have a crayon in my hand. I do not remember a time when art did not fascinate me. I never found art museums boring, even the ones where you’re expected to stay silent, merely use your eyes, and let the paintings do the talking. I was very lucky to have the opportunity to take art lessons starting at an early age. They shaped me in so many ways; teaching me
patience,
persistence,
& passion.

The Water of SC
I created this series with the bodies of water in my home state, South Carolina, as inspiration. That little nugget in the middle is me. I have always loved the beach, any body of water, really. I think charcoal a perfect medium to portray how water, reacts to light, folds, and moves.
Linocuts & a Drypoint Print
Flower, Run, Mariposa, Mermaid
When I started printmaking, I assumed I would not like the results. I was not accustomed to not knowing how my design would look as I put it through the large press and hoped for the best. I learned to love this method, the tools, and how each print had slightly different noise. This medium is a vehicle for discarding perfectionism and harnessing experimentation; I love it.
Photography
The chase of light, the capture of moments, and the make of images.
Natural Light
Nature/Still Life Photography
Making images in my backyard has become one of my favorite pastimes. I will often grab random things from the house and take them to the backyard to see what kind of images I can create with the mixture of the man made and the organic.

High & Low Key Portraits
Taking high key and low key photos is something that I found daunting, but once I learned how to do it, I thought it was so much fun. I love how the subject is highlighted when there is nothing to distract the viewer in the negative space of a photograph.
